ACOEM Fixturlaser

ACOEM Fixturlaser is a leader in developing innovative, user-friendly equipment for shaft alignment. For more than a decade, Consat has been their software development partner.

The basic concept is an intuitive, language-independent user interface combined with state of the art sensor technology.


Höganäs Digital Metal partnered with Consat to develop a high-precision 3D Writer for metal.

The first machine was developed in Consat’s concept workshop. Today, a large number of advanced products are mass produced for external customers using several 3D writers. The precision is exceptionally high and the technology supports manufacturing using several types of metal.

Oxeon TeXtreme

In cooperation with Professor Nandan Khokar, Consat has assisted in the development of weaving machines for Oxeon TeXtreme carbon fiber weave.

TeXtreme carbon fiber weave is market leader and used in the most demanding applications such as Formula 1, Americas Cup, ice hockey equipment, racing bicycles, and much more.


Ripasso Energy is partnering with Consat for assistance with mechanical engineering, software for electronics and IT.

We have had the privilege to follow Ripasso on their journey from start-up to their stock market IPO.

The product we assisted Ripasso to develop collects thermal energy from the sun in a parabolic reflective dish that tracks the sun and heats hydrogen gas to drive pistons in the engine. The system provides alternating current directly without the need for additional DC/AC converters, water cooling systems or complex central units.The system converts concentrated solar radiation into electrical energy at world leading efficiency of 32%.


Consat is development partner for Hasselblad.

For over fifty years, Hasselblad has been devoted to produce the finest camera equipment known to man.

Consat has assisted with development of software for the new camera systems H6 System and X System.


AstaZero is partnering with Consat for development of new test equipment.

We have together developed the World’s most advanced winch system to control multiple collision targets for use in the auto industry. The winch system is exceptionally powerful and is capable of precise acceleration of targets such as elks and bicyclists to realistic speeds in an exceptionally short time.

The new winch system is enabling tests of next generation active safety systems and autonomous vehicles.

Volvo Bussar

Consat and Volvo Buses has since 2005 an enhanced partnership in the development of telematics systems.

Between the two companies, we have telematics systems in most regions of the world. The systems are used to make public transportation better and more effective for operators and authorities.

We develop advanced embedded systems which improve usability and functions for products and services.

To chose architecture for an electric system requires multi-disciplinary expertise. It involves consideration of hardware, cabling, system software, and integration with IT systems. We have expertise and extensive experience in all disciplines.

Software Development

We have several agile development teams, specialized in software development for telematics and industrial products such as manufacturing and monitoring systems. Many of our projects are focused on control and monitoring of complex and time-critical systems on embedded platforms and large environments.

Depending on the preference of our customers, we work at the customer premise or in one of our offices. We use an established agile and delivery process which ensures our deliverables meet our customers’ requirements for control and traceability

Model Based Development

Model-based development can be preferred when developing large, complex systems. The benefit is that the system design and architecture are directly connected to the code and all team members get a great overview of the system functions.

For hardware dependent high-performance systems, model-based development with the associated generated code can be less suitable.

This is however something that our architects will evaluate in pre-studies or the start of a project.


Consat has extensive experience with projects related to the automotive standard AUTOSAR (AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture). We were involved in the standardization and have since done several implementations of complete stacks.

We have established relationships with product providers of AUTOSAR components and the skillset to guide customers to make the right decisions.

Bluetooth Low Energy - BLE

The demand for solutions using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is growing quickly for many of our customers. Tool-related Manufacturing Development

When you develop a product, it is essential to understand how the product will be manufactured.

One of our areas of expertise is development of tools for Tool-related manufacturing. We develop tools for plastics painting, extrusion matrices, vacuum forming tools, etc.

Many of our designers have also worked as tool makers which means we also have a great understanding of manufacturing and maintenance of tools. This experience is valuable during the development process.

Precision Mechanics

Miniaturisation is a current trend. Products with advanced functionality can be made smaller than ever, usually involving integrated electronics.

Consat is active in many precision mechanics projects, for example advanced 3D writers, hearing aids for implant, precision mechanical production machines, and development of advanced sensors.


We have extensive experience with development of plastic components for prototypes as well as mass-production. The foundation of our skills come from our expertise in Tool-related Manufacturing.

We also have a network of partners and distributors for development and manufacturing of specific niche products.

Sheet Metal

Sheet metal is one of the basic elements of mechanical development and is consequently one of Consat’s strong areas. We have experience from blinds made of thin sheets to ramps and bow doors for ships.

Product development using sheet metal requires a good understanding of how one later can produce and assemble. One of our biggest strengths is the combination of product and production development.

Consat has a design team with a focus on user interface, interaction design and developing user manuals.

The team works continously with design of our own products but is also utilized for external projects.

Depending on customer requirements, for industrial design of physical products we work with customers’ own designers or one of our own design partners.

When developing products, Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is very important. For our engineers, this design method comes natural and is integral step in our development process. Engineers at Consat participate in installation of products and machines they have developed which provides a natural feedback and increased understanding for the work involved in production.

Consat is frequently hired to assist with development of advanced specialty machines for manufacturing. To achieve the best total cost it is essential to find a balance between modifying the products versus how much investment is required for the development of the special machines.

Choice of materials is an extremely important parameter for product development since it affects not only function, price, appearance, and production but also has environmental impact. We have developed Consat Green Guideline which is a support for our engineers to develop more environmentally friendly products.

Composite Materials

With carbon fibre composite materials it is possible to achieve structures which are extremely strong and light weight.

Consat is working closely with several companies to develop new weaving techniques for carbon fibre. With Professor Nandhan Kohkar, we have developed the first weaving machines to produce the carbon fibre weave for Oxeon’s TeXtreme carbon fibre as well as machines capable of weaving carbon fibre in three dimensions for solid blocks and beams of varying shapes.

Ever since the company was founded over 30 years ago, we have helped customers to develop prototypes – from small components to complex machines.
Realizing our solutions as physical prototypes is invaluable for testing and provide valuable feedback to the continued development work. We develop prototypes with the help of manufacturers in a well established network.

We have also advanced the technology of prototype development with our work with the company Digital Metal where we developed a new 3D writer which utilizes metallic powder.

Concept Workshops

We have a concept workshop at our headquarter in Partille, Sweden where we test complete production lines and specialty machines.

At our office in Stockholm, we have a concept workshop for mounting and testing of tools and fixtures.

Having direct access to concept workshops are our development centers gives shorter development lead-times and better solutions.

3D Writer

When developing product, there is usually a need for quick verification of the design. Consat has acquired a machine for development of prototypes using the FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) technique for models in ABS-plastic. The machine is intended to be used as a service in our projects and for our customers. The max size of the models developed is 203x203x305mm. In addition to this machine we have our own workshop for assembly and basic machining such as turning and milling.
