Scalable software engineering in India
The Swedish company Combain specialises in global positioning services for connected devices — technology that works where GPS cannot. When a major customer project in India required local presence, Combain needed a way to scale quickly without building a new organisation from scratch.
By partnering with Consat Orahi, Combain established a dedicated development team in Gurugram, India. Within weeks, the team was fully operational in a LEED Platinum–certified facility, built on Consat Orahi’s Product-Oriented Development (POD) model. Today, the team consists of 11 specialists enabling faster and more consistent delivery.

The challenge
After signing a major contract in India, local presence became essential. Combain needed to rapidly establish a software team with the right competence and operating model – without creating a new organisation from scratch.
The solution
Consat Orahi implemented a Product-Oriented Development (POD) model: a long-term, business-aligned team in Gurugram functioning as a fully integrated extension of Combain’s engineers in Lund. The model covers recruitment, working environment, onboarding, agile delivery, CI/CD, code review and technical leadership – with ISO 27001 certification in progress.
The result
Combain quickly scaled engineering capacity and met rising customer demand – without external funding and without losing product momentum.
