An eco-friendly innovation in shoe care
Brunngård Group wanted to create an entirely new type of shoe impregnation machine – something that did not yet exist on the market. Thanks to Consat’s cross-functional approach, the project could move from vision to finished solution.
The combination of technical expertise, pragmatic problem-solving, and short lead times made it possible to develop a machine, EXPRO, that unites sustainability, design, and patent protection.

The challenge
Brunngård had already eliminated PFAS from its products but needed a solution that combined; (1) High-performance impregnation without harmful substances, (2) An automated process suitable for retail environments, and (3) Attractive design and patent protection.
The solution
Consat Innovation Partner developed a spray prototype that evenly applied the impregnation liquid. Consat Engineering then took over and developed the technical specification into a finished construction. To meet the requirements, the project collaborated with external experts in both design and patents.
The result
The outcome was a machine that functions optimally, is aesthetically appealing, and ready for production. It impregnates shoes quickly and toxin-free, works seamlessly in retail environments, and represents the next step in sustainable shoe care.
